At Camping Slap af we want as many people as possible to be able to use campingslapaf.dk — regardless of sight, hearing, motor ability or which device or assistive technology you use. This statement describes how we work with accessibility, the known limitations of the website, and how you can reach us if you run into a problem.
1. Our goal
We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA — the international standard for accessible web content. Although Camping Slap af, as a private business, is not covered by the EU Web Accessibility Directive (2016/2102), which applies to public sector bodies, we consider accessibility part of good service to our guests — including guests with disabilities or specific needs.
2. What we do
- We use semantic HTML so that screen readers and keyboard navigation work naturally.
- All meaningful images have descriptive alternative text.
- Text and background colours meet WCAG-recommended contrast ratios.
- The whole website can be operated by keyboard, without a mouse.
- Focus styles are clearly visible, so it is always clear where you are on the page.
- Font sizes and line lengths are chosen for good readability.
- The content is translated into ten languages so you can read in your preferred one.
- We avoid animations and motion that could be distracting or trigger discomfort.
3. Known limitations
We are continuously improving accessibility. The following areas are on our radar:
- Gallery — some images carry short descriptive alt text that does not fully convey the visual subject. Contact us if you need an extended description.
- Booking system — the booking itself is handled on a separate page that we do not fully control. If you have any trouble completing a booking, you are very welcome to call or email us — we will create the booking for you manually.
- PDF price lists — our price overviews are also available as PDFs. The prices are presented in fully accessible form on the website, so the PDF is a supplement, not the only source.
- Embedded map — maps from external providers may have limitations with screen readers. Our address is also shown as plain text, so you don't have to rely on the map.
4. How we test
We assess accessibility ourselves on an ongoing basis by going through the site with the keyboard, with contrast and semantic checking tools, and by viewing it across different screen sizes and browsers. We have not yet commissioned a formal external accessibility audit.
5. Need help or found a problem?
If you find something on campingslapaf.dk hard to use — or if you need us to share information in a different way (for example read out, in another format, or by phone) — we would very much like to hear from you. We respond as quickly as we can and are happy to walk you through a booking by phone.
Please tell us which page or feature is affected and which device or assistive technology you are using — that makes it easier for us to put things right.
6. Changes
We update this statement whenever we improve accessibility or become aware of new limitations. The date below shows when it was last updated.
